Little Day|Huai Su's Autobiography (3 boxes / box)

Monk Huai Su, famous for his cursive writing, was greatly admired by celebrities at the time, who all presented him with gifts of prose and poetry. In the year of Dali Dingsi, Monk Huai Su transcribed some of poems and Yen Cheng-ching’s calligraphy to create this handscroll. Some of the poems in the scroll praise the beauty of Huai-su’s cursive writing with natural images and grandiose rhetoric, and some praise his inheritance of Zhang Xu's madness, the pursuit of novelty and difference.

In the “Huai Su's Autobiography”, Monk Huai Su shows a calligraphy of very distinctive style with his free and unrestrained brushwork. His handwriting is remarkable and vivid, and the blank part conveys unique courage. The spirit of his calligraphy is like the rising wind and surging clouds, allowing the viewers to enjoy the subtle of nature in the willfulness and capriciousness of his work.
